Murraypark Hotel - Walking Holidays In Perthshire
Choosing a walking holiday in Perthshire gives you a chance to enjoy the best of Scotland. Perthshire is packed out with stunning examples of natural beauty and walks of all difficulties for walkers of all experiences.

A walking holiday means you’re going to be spending your days in the wilds of Scotland so it makes sense that you’d want to be accommodated in the highest levels of comfort. There are many hotels in Crieff and the whole of Perthshire which will cater to your needs whilst the Murraypark Hotel stands out as a leading choice for real luxury at a great price for your break.

Before we take a closer look at the accommodation let’s consider some of the many walks around Crieff.

Easy Walks

From the Murray Park Hotel Crieff has many accessible pathways and walkways. The Crieff Path Network varies from 1 to 8 miles and includes steep hill routes as well as gentle surfaced paths.

Lady Mary’s Walk is so named for Lady Mary Murray who considered the path a firm favourite and includes a 1500m stroll through an avenue of attractive beech trees. You will also pass the River Earn where professional salmon fishers work.

Another gentle walk is The Knock of Crieff, a wooded hill that sits above the town. Climbing to the top is a little steep but it is a short walk and once you reach the peak the views of Crieff and Strathearn are unparalleled.

Moderate Walks

If you’re looking for a little more of a challenge and are hoping to return to your Crieff hotel ready to climb into your comfy bed, then here are some options for you.

The walk from Dundurn to Saint Fillan’s Hill takes you from the steep rocky knoll of Dundurn to the cell of Saint Fillan. You’ll see views across the area and have the chance to visit the village of Saint Fillan. The terrain is quite boggy and the path up is quite steep and rugged – it’s definitely a challenge for dedicated walkers.

Another moderate walk around Crieff is the 6.25km riverbank walk from Crieff to Muthill. Beautiful woodland runs alongside the River Earn and the pathways to occasionally get a little boggy. You can enjoy the picturesque village of Muthill on your arrival and get a bus back to your hotel on your return.

Local Munros

If you’ve got your sights set on conquering a Munro then the ‘easiest’ option is Ben Chonzie via Glen Lednock, to the north west of Crieff. It’s conquerable in around half a day and follows a simply path with heather moorlands to trek through which make wonderful viewing.

Having Murray Park as your base gives you the chance to truly experience natural Scotland and the surrounding walk paths and natural beauty of Crieff. There are many other walks around Crieff and Perthshire which you can find out about once you arrive at your hotel or check online. Once you have enjoyed the beauty of Crieff and the surrounding area it’s unlikely you’ll want to holiday elsewhere and with the comfort of Murraypark to come back to at night you will not be disappointed.
